MINOR INJURIES

 

Some Minor Injuries may be treated by a doctor or the treatment room nurse in the Practice and will mean fewer patients have to attend A&E.

The following list details some of the conditions, injuries which may be treated in the Practice:

a.      Lacerations, cuts and bites to skin

b.      Minor dislocation of phalanges

c.      Removal of foreign bodies

         including non penetrating foreign bodies in eyes

d.      some partcial thickness burns - depends on size and location

         of burn

e.      minor soft tissue injuries which cannot be managed

         by simple first aid - where there is no need for Xray

There are other circumstances where treatment as a minor injury might be appropriate.  Please contact reception if you have any questions.
